Dr. Leonard “Jeff” Harris Recognized by Memphis Magazine

Dr. Jeff Harris was recently featured in Memphis Magazine‘s 2025 Top Doctors edition, recognized by Castle Connolly‘s research group for his exceptional expertise, compassionate care, and commitment to advancing cancer treatment.

Dr. Harris’ journey into medicine began in high school, leading him through:

an M.D. at the Medical College of Georgia,

a combined residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center,

and a Master of Science in Epidemiology at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center

His decision to specialize in cancer care became even more personal when his younger sister faced colon cancer. The experience deeply impacted him and and solidified his desire to dedicate his career to guiding patients through this journey.

Since joining West in 2023, Dr. Harris has focused on treating blood disorders and bone marrow conditions, including leading-edge clinical trials.

He shares, “We may not have a silver bullet for every problem, but today we have lots of ammo!”

That means while there may not always be a single, definitive cure, the rapid progress in oncology—especially through targeted therapies and immunotherapy—gives patients more personalized, effective, and hopeful treatment paths than ever before.
