Denise’s journey with cervical cancer began after a visit to her primary care provider, where she was then sent to the hospital and later referred to West Gynecologic Oncologist, Dr. Linda Smiley.
Denise shares, “Dr. Smiley told me she had a plan for me right off the bat. And Dr. Farmer did my radiation treatment. He and his nurse, Ms. Liz – they really got me through it. Without them and their care, I couldn’t have gotten through it.”
Denise also received transportation support through West Cancer Foundation to ensure she was able to make every appointment. She mentions that because her husband was unable to drive, these donated services were so important to her care.
Denise has now rang the bell at our Wolf River campus, celebrating the completion of her treatment! Congratulations!
