Dr. Nasir joins the West Cancer Center faculty following the completion of his fellowship at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC)/West Cancer Center. Dr. Nasir scored in the top 20th percentile in the country on the In-Service Exams during his fellowship, further establishing the high caliber of not only Dr. Nasir’s expertise, but of the entire fellowship program. Dr. Nasir earned his Medical Degree from Dow Medical College in Pakistan and received a scholarship for training at King Fahad Medical City in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He then traveled to Memphis to complete his residency in Internal Medicine at UTHSC, where he served as Chief Medical Resident for an additional year prior to joining the Hematology-Oncology Fellowship Program at UTHSC/West Cancer Center. During his fellowship, he served as Chief Fellow – a prestigious honor awarded to one of the top performing fellows by our West Cancer Center faculty. Dr. Nasir is an award-winning researcher, recognized at some of the world’s premier cancer conferences and is an active member of several national professional societies, including the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM), American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and American Society of Hematology (ASH). Dr. Nasir enjoys traveling and exploring new places with his lovely wife, Shahnaz, who is also a physician.
