Lan Tran, PA

Lan Tran, PA-C is a NCCPA board-certified Physician Assistant who practices medical oncology in the setting of various cancer types. After graduating from Rhodes College, she pursued a Masters of Cytopathology Practice at UTHSC focusing primarily on the morphologic evaluation of cells for the purpose of identifying cancer and pre-cancerous cells. She graduated with the highest honors in 2015 and was awarded the highest award in cytotechology. She then went on to work in histology where she gained experience with the laboratory aspect of oncology with embedding, sectioning and staining cancerous tissue and tumors. Lan returned to UTHSC in 2017 to complete the Masters of Medical Sciences in Physician Assistant Studies. Her passion for oncology deepened after she completed a month of pediatric and adult oncology at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and West Cancer Center, respectively. Lan was recognized for her academic achievement, leadership, research, community and professional service with induction into the Pi Alpha Honor Society for Physician Assistants. She is also an active member of the Association of Physician Assistants in Oncology and the American Association of Physician Assistants. Lan's passion for oncology began when her father became at patient of West Cancer Center in 2011 and she is grateful for the ability to provide quality healthcare and support at the very place that has been such an integral part in her father's care. As a patient advocate, Lan practices medicine in the best interest of her patients and cherishes the relationships she is able to build with her patients and families. Lan strives to stay up-to-date with the most recent advances in oncology and works closely with her team to provide patients with the best possible care, treatment and support.
