Emily C. Dunaway, MSN, FNP-C graduated from Union University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2009. Her nursing practice began in South Carolina where she worked for 5 years at a Heart Hospital. Upon moving to Mississippi, her love of cancer care began when she accepted a nursing position on the bone marrow transplant unit, where she continued for over 4 years caring for both adult and pediatric transplant patients. Her dedication to excellence in nursing was deepened by becoming a bone marrow transplant certified nurse and obtaining chemotherapy/biotherapy certification through Oncology Nursing Society. Additionally, she has been a longtime member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society. After over 9 years of bedside nursing, Emily graduated with her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Mississippi Medical Center specializing as a family nurse practitioner. She entered into the role of provider at Jackson Oncology Associates in Mississippi before returning to her home town of Memphis, Tennessee in 2018. It is at that point that she became a part of the West Cancer Center team, contributing to compassionate and holistic cancer care in the fields of Medical Oncology and Hematology.
