Metastatic Melanoma Survivor, Ken Billett, was recently published in The Daily Memphian recounting his melanoma journey and him speaking at the Melanoma Research Alliance Scientific Retreat in Washington, DC. The annual retreat brought together scientists, researchers, and advocates from around the US and, this year, 14 countries.
May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month, which is a time to share facts about the dangers of unprotected sun exposure and encouraging people to check their skin for warning signs. Throughout Ken’s journey, he has actively advocated for skin cancer prevention and more research on melanoma treatment options. Ken states “My advocacy work has a purpose. I have a purpose. And as long as I’m able to advocate, I will continue to fight for others with melanoma.”
