About Me

Dr. Johnson grew up in a large family. His father was career Air Force and he lived in Tampa, Morocco, Ohio, Delaware, and Washington state. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Puget Sound and is a Cum Laude graduate of the St. Louis University School of Medicine. He chose to serve his country in the U.S. Air Force while completing his Internal Medicine Residency along with his Fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at the Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center in San Antonio, TX. After completing his time in the Air Force, Dr. Johnson moved to Memphis to be near his wife’s parents and grandparents in their later days. He is a proud gardener, father, grandfather, and husband. He and his wife love to travel, and have been honored to go on medical missions in Kosova, Albania, and Turkey.

Dr. Johnson sees patients in our Germantown and Brighton locations. Known for his caring, gentle manner, Dr. Johnson always takes time to listen to his patients’ concerns. He welcomes questions and always provides words of hope and encouragement. A teacher by temperament, he urges his patients to “please ask when you don’t understand what is happening or what the plan is.” He firmly believes that “it is the doctor’s responsibility to explain things until you are satisfied.” He encourages second opinions, both to reassure families about the plan and to be sure nothing has been overlooked.
