About Me

Heather joined West Cancer Center in 2011, having been an oncology nurse practitioner since 2002. She currently works in the outpatient setting, managing a variety of medical oncology patients including those with genitourinary (GU) and gastrointestinal (GI) cancers, in which her collaborating physician has a special interest. She is also a sub-investigator on several GU and GI protocols at West. In addition to her clinical practice, she is one of three Lead Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) at West Cancer Center, helping mentor and guide over 40 APPs in their role and practice.

Heather earned her BSN in 2000 and her MSN in 2002, both from the University of Tennessee. She has been a contributing author on several occasions for the Journal of the Advanced Practitioner in Oncology (JADPRO) and the Oncology Nursing Society.  She has spoken at multiple local, regional and national Advanced Practice meetings, including West Oncology Annual Conference, Oncology Nursing Society’s Annual Congress and JADPROLive!. She co-chaired APPOS Nashville for three years and this year she again  co-chaired the Annual West Oncology Conference: Updates for Advanced Practitioners and Nurses.
