About:

Adrian Banks, MSN, APRN, AGACNP-BC, AOCNP is an Inpatient Hematology and Medical Oncology Nurse Practitioner with West Cancer Center & Research Institute, where she has practiced since 2017. Adrian earned her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2017 and previously received her Associate Degree in Nursing from Northwest Mississippi Community College in 2008. Before becoming a nurse practitioner, she spent nine years as a registered nurse working in emergency departments across the Mid-South and at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

She is board certified as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center and is an Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner.

Adrian’s decision to specialize in oncology was deeply influenced by her friend Heather’s diagnosis of metastatic breast cancer. Witnessing that journey firsthand inspired her commitment to ensuring patients and families feel informed, supported, and cared for throughout their cancer journey.

Outside of work, Adrian spends most weekends cheering on her daughter at softball tournaments and supporting her son’s love of fishing. Any remaining free time is spent volunteering in her local community and escaping to the beach whenever possible.
