MEMPHIS, Tenn. – March 15, 2016 — West Cancer Center, the Mid-South’s leading cancer treatment organization recently named Candace Wilder as Chief Operating Officer. Wilder previously served as Vice President of Operations for West Cancer Center.
“The decision to promote Candace to COO is part of our strategic growth plan,” said Erich Mounce West Cancer Center CEO. “The move was also an easy one as she has the proven leadership skills and experience to keep West Cancer Center on the cutting edge of cancer treatment in the Mid-South.”
Wilder joined West Cancer Center as Director of West Clinic’s Comprehensive Breast Center in 2012 where she managed staffing and operations for the two breast center locations. Prior to joining West, Candace served in leadership roles at the Memphis Heart Clinic (MHC) and aided in the transition as MHC merged with the West Clinic in 2011. While at MHC, Wilder was involved in a variety of initiatives including clinic expansion, physician recruitment and orientation, patient education and community involvement.
As COO of West Cancer Center, Candace will help lead the day to day operations of all West Cancer Center sites as well as assist me in the continual integration of operational initiatives and culture shaping for all West Cancer Center operations and services. Candace’s promotion also is timely due to our increased focus on patient access and services with the recent opening, of the new West Cancer Center clinically integrated state-of-the-art facility at 7945 Wolf River Blvd. in Germantown.
A native of Memphis, Wilder graduated from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville with a Bachelor of Science in communications. She has been actively involved in the Memphis community, working with the Healthy Memphis Common Table, the American Heart Association and Conservation through Art, a partnership between ArtsMemphis and Ducks Unlimited. She was also honored on the Memphis Business Journal’s Top 40 Under 40 list in 2012.
